my neighbor, without permission, posted my car for sale, while it was parked in my driveway, WWYD WWYD? Vent/Rant I'm scrolling Facebook marketplace today and I see a picture of a car with a familiar background, I tap it and, well, ITS MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY. I look at the account that posted it and it's my neighbor (who's in his 30s).

Earlier today he came to compliment my car and I told him I'm thinking*** of selling. He never asked or mentioned anything, I guess he waited til I left the house, and took pics and posted it. I have no clue what to think of this.

Lumpy_Judgment_892 . 8h ago Take pictures of his house. Post of Facebook for a really good price. Say open house this weekend with free drinks and food. Watch as karma comes back and gets him. 353 353 Reply

MorticiaFattums 6h ago He's scamming people and you. Take screen shots of the listing showing its on Facebook and his profile, then Report the listing to Facebook. Next, have someone( not the neighbor) take your photo, holding your ID and Title to the car next to the Plate and a picture of your ID and Title beside the VIN on the dash. These 2 photos are your supporting proof of ownership you should provide to the Police when you report him for attemping Property Theft. 95 Reply •••

The guy went to get the money but thought about it and this truck was worth more than $500 so he asked to see the title and called the registered owner behind the brother's back. She confirmed it was stolen. She was on vacation.

Every vacation afterwards she parked it in our driveway and asked my dad to tell her brother he was borrowing it to work on our house while she was away so this has actually happened on my street before. It's wild. If the buyer hadn't been smart there would be a world of problems. This was like 20 years ago. ↑ 28 Reply

havextree • 4h ago . Maybe he thought he was doing you a favor and took you saying you were thinking of selling too literally? Or he's scamming people. Either way he's going to far. Take screen shots and have someone else save the page in case he blocks you. I would just talk to him directly immediately. First bring up the post and gauge what he is trying to do. Either he is an overstepping idiot or a total POS and would make him take it down in front of me. Please update, I'm curious as well. 2

Me_Booty 2h ago • Looks like he's trying to figure out the value of flipping the car. Meaning, he put the ad on Facebook at a certain price to see if people bit. Then if people responded frequently enough, let's say to $20K, he was going to come over and offer you maybe $15k and then flip the car and make $5k. #ghettoarbitrage Either way it goes, it's grimy, an invasion of privacy, and shouldn't be happening.

You can either report them to the police or have a man to man talk with him. I hate to say it, but I wonder what else he has been doing or other ways he's overstepped when it comes to his neighbors. 10 Reply

    • jpelling 3h ago maybe, just MAYBE... he is just a weird but nice guy and is trying to see what someone would pay for it, so he can then say "hey neighbour I found someone who will buy your car for X amount if you actually want to sell it". Odd that he didn't tell you, he could be trying to scam people but that seems odd as he could use any picture of any car to do that so why choose yours? I feel like the guys just trying to help. -12 Reply
